What Does 2021 Mean For Timeshare?

A

s we finally say goodbye to 2020 and the challenges faced, it is time to look forward to 2021 and hope for a better year in which the World hopes to recover and return to ‘normal’ or, as it may turn out- The new normal!

Will It Be A Happy New Year?

As of 1st of January 2020 the United Kingdom (UK)will have left the European Union (EU), Brexit will be complete, and Westminster Parliament will have regained its sovereignty and legislative power.  As Boris Johnson stated at a Downing Street conference ‘We have taken back control of our laws and our destiny’.  But what does Brexit mean for timeshare owners?

Over the last few months, we have been contacted by timeshare owners who have been contacted by cold callers who have put the fear of god into them stating that they must deal with any timeshare issues by the 31st of January 2020or they will no longer be able to take any action to cancel their timeshare contracts or look into Spanish timeshare claims ‘because of Brexit’.

We have, quite frankly, never heard such rubbish!  And would like to take this opportunity to reassure owners that the fact that the UK is no longer part of the EU will have no bearing whatsoever on the options to get out of timeshare contracts or on any genuine entitlement to claim.  If you have experienced such calls, our advice, as ever is…

Don’t engage with anyone who cold-calls you!

In addition to scare-mongering regarding Brexit, cold callers have been quick to jump on the Covid 19 band wagon mounting aggressive call campaigns for the purpose of persuading owners to hand over large upfront fees to cancel timeshare contracts.

Don’t pay upfront fees to cancel your timeshare!

It must be said that we have seen an increase in owners who are now looking at their options to cancel their timeshare contracts for the first time.  Thousands of owners dutifully paid their 2020 maintenance fees, yet could not travel, and don’t want to be in the position of paying 2021 fees for holidays that they are again, unable to take.

If you are now considering exiting your timeshare contract, please give us a call on 0800 060 8729 Our friendly advisers are on hand between 9 am and 8 pm to answer any questions you may have regarding your timeshare ownership and can let you know what options you have for contract cancellation.   We can give you a no obligation quote for cancellation- and don’t charge any upfront fees for our services.

We can also go through a quick ‘claims check’ to let you know if you could be one of thousands of timeshare owners who could have their timeshares declared null and void and have the money they have paid returned to them.
